Henryetta, Oklahoma – Federal and local authorities are urging the public to come forward with information regarding a fatal arson that occurred in Henryetta on February 10, 2025. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) is now offering a $5,000 reward for tips that help identify the suspect responsible for this deadly fire.
The fire took place at approximately 323 East Trudgeon Street in the early morning hours. Tragically, the blaze claimed the life of Sarah Yancey, a local resident. Fire investigators have confirmed the fire was intentionally set, making this a homicide investigation.
The ATF has released surveillance footage capturing a man approaching Yancey’s home, igniting the fire, and fleeing the scene. Authorities believe the suspect was later picked up by an individual at a nearby convenience store shortly after the incident.
ATF Special Agent Ashley Stephens stated that the agency is working in close collaboration with the Henryetta Police Department and the Oklahoma State Fire Marshal’s Office to solve this case.
“We believe someone in the Henryetta community knows who this person is,” said Stephens. “Even the smallest detail — a name, a video, or recognizing someone from the footage — could lead to an arrest and justice for Sarah Yancey’s family.”
Anyone with information that could assist in identifying the arson suspect — or the individual who picked him up — is encouraged to come forward. All tips remain confidential.
