Henryetta Honors Lion Ron McAfee with Proclamation and Special Day

The family of Lion Ron McAfee, together with members of the Henryetta Lions Club, gathered at City Hall to witness a special moment as Mayor Michael Dickey signed an official proclamation declaring Thursday, April 24th as Lion Ron McAfee Day in Henryetta. The proclamation celebrates the life and enduring legacy of Lion Ron, who devoted more than 64 years to service through the Lions Club, achieving the remarkable milestone of perfect attendance at weekly meetings throughout his membership.

With the blessing of the McAfee family, the Henryetta Lions Club will commemorate Lion Ron’s extraordinary dedication and contributions with a local presentation for family and friends next Thursday. During the ceremony, Lion Ron’s vest and awards will be presented in his honor, offering a heartfelt remembrance of his service and friendship to the community.

In further recognition of his legacy, the Henryetta Lions will also present Lion Ron’s vest and awards to the Oklahoma Lions at the upcoming State Convention. This gesture ensures that his spirit of service continues to inspire Lions throughout the state.

The community is warmly invited to join the Lions Club and the McAfee family in honoring Lion Ron’s memory and celebrating a life defined by selfless service, leadership, and unwavering commitment to the people of Henryetta.
