Cookie's 80th Birthday Celebration: A Life of Gospel, Music, and Family

Cookies

From the moment she could hum a tune, Cookie had music in her soul. It all began when she was just 3 years old, singing in the Booster Band at Elm Grove Church. By age 10, she could be found sitting at the piano bench, watching attentively as others played, asking questions and soaking in every note. Those early years planted a lifelong love of music and ministry that still flourishes today—77 years later.

Cookie’s journey through music has taken her to many churches, but one of her favorite places to sing and play is The Plumb Theatre in Longtown, Oklahoma. Introduced to the venue by her brother, Jody Green, she was invited to join him one Friday night for Gospel Singing. From that first night, she was hooked. “It’s such a wonderful atmosphere to share the Gospel in song,” Cookie said.

And now, that passion and dedication will be honored in a very special way.

Come help us celebrate Cookie’s 80th birthday on Friday, April 25th at 7:00 PM at The Plumb Theatre. Expect a night full of joy, delicious food, family, and uplifting Gospel music. Cookie’s two children, six grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren (with one more due any day now!) will be in attendance, making it a true family celebration.

This event promises to be unforgettable—and likely a full house! But don’t worry, we’ll make room for everyone, even if we have to expand into the parking lot.
